At our Hertfordshire Community Hubs, we are dedicated to creating vibrant and inclusive spaces for older and disabled people. This February, we have an array of engaging activities planned to bring joy and laughter to your local centre.
Our Community Hubs are vital in preventing social isolation and improving quality of life for Hertfordshire residents, so whether you come along to the Jubilee Centre in St Albans, Friendship House in Hatfield, our vibrant Cuffley Day Centre, or Macfadyen Webb in Letchworth, we’re confident you’ll leave with a smile on your face. Join us for a month of fun-filled activities and socialising!

Jubilee Centre, St Albans
Situated in the heart of St Albans, the Jubilee Centre is both a meals on wheels site and a bustling Community Hub, so we always have something going on. Within walking distance from St Albans City Station and surrounded by shops, our central location is ideal for you to pop in for a cuppa.
Kingfisher Dementia Club – Every Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday
Our Kingfisher Club offers an exciting mix of activities for people with mild to moderate dementia. The sessions are run by highly trained staff, supported by a team of caring volunteers. Clients can attend without a loved one or carer. We offer a wide range of both group and individual activities and work with you to understand your hobbies and your life story so that we can create activities that centre around your interests. Examples include poetry readings, sing-alongs, quizzes, and crafts.
We also partner with Hertswise to deliver specialist dementia support to those living with dementia, low level memory loss, or mild cognitive impairment, and their friends and family. This includes groups and one-to-one support.

Drop-in Lunch Club – Every Weekday
Our Drop-in Lunch Clubs are open every weekday from 11.30am – 2pm, with lunch served from 12.30pm. There is no need to book in advance, just come along.
Friendship House, Hatfield
Our vibrant Community Hub nestled in Wellfield Close in Hatfield has something fun taking place every weekday. Just a few minutes’ walk from Hatfield train station, fun is waiting to be had at Friendship House in February.
Groundwork Morning – Wednesday 14th, Wednesday 28th
Informative, productive sessions with nature-based charity organisation Groundwork. Explore new skills, learn something new, and have fun with likeminded people.
Bollywood Dancing – Friday 16th
Experience the magic of Bollywood with a lively dance session. Shake off the winter blues and embrace the rhythm of Bollywood with Activities Assistant and Bollywood lover, Chandrima.
Bingo Afternoon – Monday 19th
Join us for a friendly game of bingo, where surprises and prizes add an extra layer of enjoyment.
Bowls Morning – Wednesday 21st
Take part in the timeless and social sport of bowls. Whether you’re a seasoned player or a beginner, our Bowls Morning promises a relaxing and enjoyable atmosphere for all.
Healthy Hub advice – Thursday 22nd
Liz joins us every month at the Healthy Hub to provide valuable advice and assistance. Whether you need health-related guidance or simply a friendly chat, Liz is here to help.
Movie Afternoon – Monday 26th
Relax and unwind with our Movie Afternoon. Grab some popcorn (provided), settle into a comfy chair, and enjoy a film with friends.
Group Exercise Classes – Every Monday and Thursday
The sessions include gentle movement to improve your strength and balance, as well as chair-based exercises. You can just drop in, no need to tell us you are coming. We’ve just introduced a brand-new Loyalty Card scheme where you can collect eight stamps and get your ninth class completely free.

Cuffley Day Centre, Cuffley
A well-established local Community Hub, Our Cuffley Day Centre is a warm and inviting space where older and disabled members of the community can enjoy a variety of activities, entertainment, and a two-course lunch. The club is run by a team of highly trained and experienced staff members and volunteers who create a welcoming and engaging environment.
Step2Skills Class – Monday 12th, Monday 19th, Monday 26th
Step2Skills sessions cover a range of practical skills, from basic life hacks to more advanced techniques, providing valuable knowledge that can be applied in everyday life. Attendees can engage in hands-on activities, fostering a sense of accomplishment and self-improvement.
Singing with Natalie – Tuesday 20th
Enjoy classic, nostalgic melodies with performer Natalie. Join in the chorus and soak up the power of music.
Exercise with Claire – Wednesday 28th
These light sessions are designed to cater to various mobility levels, ensuring that everyone can participate and enjoy the benefits of staying active.
10-2 Club – Every weekday
Welcoming and engaging sessions offering an exciting mix of activities tailored to your interests. For a set price each day, you will receive tea and toast on arrival, a two-course hot lunch, and be able to participate in all activities.
Macfadyen Webb, Letchworth
Our smaller Community Hub, Macfadyen Webb in Letchworth, runs a 10-2 Club every Friday.
