Jumpers, parties, cards, and celebrations: Christmas 2024 at HILS!
It’s safe to say that Christmas 2024 at HILS went off in style! While our amazing meals teams delivered thousands of hot, tasty, and nutritious meals across Hampshire, Hertfordshire, and West Sussex (including on Christmas Day!), we also managed to pack in plenty of festive cheer. From Christmas parties and jumper day fundraisers to spreading joy with handmade cards from local schoolchildren, it’s been a month to remember!
Christmas Jumper Day 2024
This year, we joined in the fun for Christmas Jumper Day, raising money for Save the Children. Our teams didn’t disappoint, pulling out all the stops with glitter, sequins, and plenty of festive flair!
Who can resist the chance to brighten their day with a touch of sparkle while supporting a fantastic cause? We love these special moments when our teams and colleagues come together to make a difference—and look fabulous while doing it!
Project Christmas Card
One of our Communications Team’s favourite traditions is the annual Christmas Card Campaign. Every year, we team up with primary, infant, and even nursery schoolchildren across Hampshire, Hertfordshire, and West Sussex to create festive masterpieces.
Armed with pens, glue, and heaps of glitter (we do love glitter!), the children crafted beautiful cards complete with heartfelt messages for our clients. The response from our clients was heart warming:
“These cards are amazing! I only receive one card a year, and now this makes two. It brings me so much joy.”
Hearing how much these cards mean to our clients makes every glittery table worthwhile.
Party Time!
This year, we hosted not one, not two, but three fabulous Christmas parties at our Community Hubs!
- At Cuffley Day Centre, guests danced the day away to festive tunes.
- Over at the Jubilee Centre in St Albans, everyone joined in for a cheerful sing-along.
- At Friendship House in Hatfield, guests enjoyed games, activities, and plenty of holiday fun.
Each party featured a delicious Christmas lunch, and the big man in red himself made a special appearance to spread even more joy and laughter.
A Heartfelt Thank You
We couldn’t have done it without the incredible effort and enthusiasm of our staff, volunteers, and partners. From our meals teams who kept delivering through the festive season, to the schools, families, and community members who made it all so special—thank you for making Christmas 2024 one to remember.
