HILS Proud to Be Finalists at the Hertfordshire Care Awards

Health & Independent Living Support (HILS) is celebrating after being named a finalist at the Hertfordshire Care Awards 2026 in the Contribution to Care category. The nomination recognised the dedication, compassion and impact of our teams who support older and vulnerable people every day. While we didn’t take home the award on the night, reaching the final was an achievement we’re incredibly proud of. The Hertfordshire Care Awards showcase the very best of the care sector, highlighting individuals and organisations who make a real difference in people’s lives. To be recognised alongside so many inspiring finalists was an honour in itself.
At HILS, our mission is simple: helping people stay happy, healthy and independent in their own homes for as long as possible. From delivering hot meals and carrying out wellbeing checks through our Meals on Wheels service, to providing community activities, exercise programmes, dementia support and advocacy services, our teams work tirelessly to support thousands of people every year.
This recognition belongs to every member of our organisation. Whether they’re delivering meals in all weather conditions, supporting clients over the phone, coordinating services behind the scenes or helping people access the support they need, our staff and volunteers make a meaningful difference every day.
We’re also incredibly grateful to our clients, their families and our partners. Your trust, feedback and support help us continue to develop services that improve health, wellbeing and independence across the communities we serve.
Being named a finalist is a reminder of why we do what we do. Awards are wonderful, but the greatest reward is hearing how our services have helped someone stay connected, remain independent or simply feel valued and supported.
Congratulations to all the winners and finalists at this year’s Hertfordshire Care Awards. We are proud to stand alongside organisations and individuals who are making such a positive impact on care across the county.
As we look ahead, we remain committed to delivering high-quality, person-centred services and continuing to support people to live independently, with dignity and confidence.
Thank you to everyone who has been part of our journey.
