HILS Celebrates 500,000 Hot Meal Deliveries in West Sussex Since Launching in October 2022. 

In January, HILS celebrated delivering our 500,000th hot meal, that’s enough meals to serve every older resident in West Sussex several times over.

Since launching our meals on wheels service in October 2022, we have supported over 3,000 residents with a daily two‑course hot meal and a caring wellbeing check.

As demand continues to grow across the County, our investment in new facilities in Ford and Horsham to implement the HILS City Car Model, is providing more efficiency and sustainability to reach even more people. 

As the population in West Sussex continues to age, meals on wheels remains a vital service ensuring those who are unable to prepare or source a hot meal can receive one.  

But meals on wheels is far more than a delivery of a hot nutritious meals it’s the friendly chats, reassurance, and a feeling of being supported by a HILS Community Team Member that their clients benefit from too:

This support is vital for many older people who might otherwise struggle to access a hot, nutritious meal or have a regular social contact.
