HILS in West Sussex and Hampshire recently took delivery of 31 KIA Picanto’s to replace their existing fleet of “oven vans”. The move comes as HILS streamlines its operations in the South to fall in line with existing operations in Hertfordshire.
By adopting the same practice as in Hertfordshire it will mean that the service here in the South will become more efficient and sustainable. Previously the meals would be cooked enroute in the on-board ovens. Now they are cooked using the onsite kitchens and then distributed using electronic hotboxes that have been specially developed for use in these cars.
The fleet of KIA Picanto’s have been an extremely reliable fleet of cars for HILS, especially for the high volume of meals that are delivered each day. It was a simple choice to choose them again to grow our business in the South.
Operating across both counties, we have 21 new cars in Hampshire operating across 5 sites and 10 new cars operating across 2 sites in West Sussex.
