Emma is a Hertfordshire-based NHS Professional who has referred many of her patients to HILS, and her grandmother was also a meals on wheels client. She recently got in touch to let us know that she intended to walk a whopping 100km (62 miles – that’s over two marathons) to raise money for us.
She said:
‘HILS input allowed my grandma, who is in her 90s, to stay living in her own home by providing meals on wheels and friendly chats. During my career as a Learning Disability Dietitian, this amazing charity also provided support to many of my patients, enabling them to live their best lives.’
The route will take her from Putney Bridge to Henley, she will be leaving on 14th September and arriving the next day: a whole 24 hours of walking.
