Our CEO, Sarah Wren OBE, Meets Her Majesty The Queen to Celebrate Meals on Wheels Week

November 26, 2025

What an unforgettable moment for our organisation!

Recently our CEO, Sarah Wren OBE, had the honour of meeting Her Majesty The Queen at Clarence House in London. The engagement formed part of Meals on Wheels Week 2025, a national celebration highlighting the essential role meals services play in supporting older and vulnerable people across the UK.

Sarah attended the reception with Neel Radia, National Chair of the National Association of Care Catering (NACC), and Karl, one of our dedicated meals on wheels drivers. Karl’s commitment and compassion have recently been showcased on our website, where he shared his experiences of supporting clients day-to-day. His story reflects the dedication and warmth our Community Team bring to every doorstep.

The event at Clarence House brought together representatives from meals on wheels services and lunch clubs across the country. Her Majesty spoke warmly to attendees, recognising not only the importance of providing nutritious meals, but also the vital role these services play in reducing loneliness and social isolation. During the visit, Neel Radia presented The Queen with an Honorary Membership of the NACC, acknowledging her ongoing support for community catering and volunteering initiatives across the care sector.

This special moment was a proud milestone for our organisation, celebrating the hard work and heart that goes into our service every single day.

We are incredibly proud of Karl and all our drivers, whose daily dedication ensures that anyone who needs HILS’ support receives nutritious meals, friendly conversation, and compassionate care. This visit was a wonderful opportunity to highlight the importance of meals on wheels services and the difference they make to tens of thousands of people who are healthier, happier, and more independent because of our teams.
