HILS Celebrates Afternoon Tea Week with Community Cream Tea Event

August 13, 2026

To mark Afternoon Tea Week, HILS was delighted to host a FREE Cream Tea event at Bradshaw Lodge in Bognor Regis, West Sussex. The event brought local residents together for an enjoyable time together while also providing an opportunity to learn about the range of preventative support services available in the area.

The cream teas served during the event were part of the HILS Tea Pack range, and attendees were able to sample our range along with other sweet treats kindly donated by Bradshaw Lodge while learning more about the services that help support people to maintain their independence and wellbeing at home.

HILS was pleased to partner with Age UK West Sussex, Brighton & Hove (WSBH) and West Sussex Fire & Rescue Service, with representatives from all three organisations attending to share information, advice and guidance. The event highlighted the importance of early intervention and raised awareness of the support available to help residents remain safe, healthy and independent in their own homes. WSFR also brought along one of their fire engines for the attendees to pop down and look around.

Around 15 local residents joined us for the celebration and enjoyed a traditional cream tea in a welcoming environment. The afternoon provided a fantastic opportunity for attendees to meet new people, ask questions and find out more about the services available to them locally. Residents left with useful information and resources from each organisation, helping them to access support when needed.

Community events such as  these play an important role in reducing  social isolation, strengthening community connections and ensuring residents know where to turn for help and advice.

A special thank you goes to Bradshaw Lodge for hosting the event in the beautiful surroundings of their care home that only opened in October 2025. They generously provided the refreshments, including some extra sweet treats, which were very well received by everyone who attended.

HILS would also like to thank Age UK WSBH and West Sussex Fire & Rescue Service for their support in making the event such a success.
