On Thursday 9th April our CEO Sarah Wren and our Active Ageing Team Lead Yvonne White attended the Public Sector Catering Awards where we were lucky to be nominated for an award. Yvonne has written a blog piece about her first ever awards experience! Read on to find out more…..
“Last Thursday I had the pleasure of attending the Public Sector Catering Awards  alongside our CEO, Sarah.
I was excited to be given the opportunity to attend, especially as we were finalists in the Health and Nutrition category.
The event was held at the Hilton London Metropole, walking into the Richmond Suite I felt very excited, the room was beautifully set with round tables and sparkling lights and a real sense of celebration in the room. It was a special honour to be there representing HILS and everything we stand for.
 
The evening itself was fantastic. Our compere Miles Jupp kept everyone entertained throughout and there was a great atmosphere across the room. The food was absolutely delicious, and there was certainly a celebratory feel at our table.
When our category was announced, it was a proud moment to see our name up on the screen. While we didn’t take home the award this time, being recognised as finalists was an achievement.
It was also inspiring to see the wide range of organisations being recognised, from military services to school catering, each making a meaningful difference in their own way.
Although it was a late night, I left feeling proud and honoured to have been part of such a special evening and to represent HILS at such a fantastic event.”
