Celebrating our Active Ageing Wellbeing Client of the Season
We’re delighted to announce John as our Winter 2025 Client of the Season.
Although John is only halfway through his Active Ageing programme, his commitment and determination have already made a lasting impression.
At 69, John faced significant health challenges. After years of heavy
drinking and a largely sedentary lifestyle, he was living with serious health conditions including heart complications, lower back pain, and mobility issues.
But John made a life-changing decision two years ago – he stopped drinking.
Since then, he has been focused on rebuilding his health and regaining control of his wellbeing. His dedication to change has been remarkable.
When John joined the programme, he was already highly motivated and keen to improve his strength. He had even started using weights independently. Working together, our Active Ageing Instructor refined his technique, slowed the pace to ensure exercises were safe and effective, and gradually introduced a structured programme tailored to his needs.
Over the weeks, new exercises have been added to build strength, improve stability, and support weight loss. John now exercises daily and has embraced the routine wholeheartedly. Resistance bands and leg weights have been incorporated to improve lower limb strength, and he is keen to progress further, with hopes of securing a walker so he can confidently get back outside.
At his initial assessment, John scored 25 on the Berg Balance Scale. With his consistency and determination, we fully expect to see measurable improvements by the end of the programme.
John’s journey may not be a conventional one, but it is a powerful reminder that positive change is always possible. His resilience, commitment, and willingness to put in the work make him a truly deserving Winter Client of the Season.
We look forward to seeing what he achieves next.
