Support us
HILS is a charitable not-for-profit, providing independence-promoting support services to older and disabled people across the county.
Many of the services we provide are free of charge to our clients and we often deliver additional gifts and support for our most vulnerable and socially isolated clients. In recent years, the costs of providing our services has dramatically increased whilst available funding continues to decrease. Your support helps us to continue going the extra mile to help our clients stay happy, healthy, and independent at home.
There are a number of ways that you can help us:
- Personal donations: whether you can donate £5 or £5000, every little helps towards sustaining our support for the most vulnerable in our community.
- Fundraising endeavours: if you are a sporty type and would like to run a 10K for HILS, or fancy doing a sponsored skydive, we can support you with promotion, and getting organised. Scroll down for an example of how people have fundraised for us in the past!
- Corporate sponsorship: we always welcome enquiries from local or national companies who would like to support our organisation.
- Leaving a gift in your will: a legacy donation is a great way to continue supporting your local community long into the future!

Young duo raise a phenomenal £1,773 for HILS!
Two charitable 16-year-olds from Sussex, Brooke and Monty, were determined to make a difference to older and disabled people in the community by taking on a 100K in 24hrs walking challenge on 25th October.
Through an extraordinary fundraising effort, the pair surpassed their expectations and raised an amazing £1,773 total for HILS. These funds will go towards supporting older and disabled people across Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire, West Sussex, and Hampshire to stay happy, healthy, and independent. Brooke was ecstatic with the achievement, “I completed the walk finishing at Birling Gap in 21.5 hours, so I passed the aim which I’m very happy about. It was the most challenging task I’ve ever done!”
